Prof. Dr. Oliver Zielinski, bisher Hochschul-
lehrer an der Hochschule Bremerhaven
und Leiter des Instituts für Marine Res-
sourcen (IMARE,Bremerhaven),hat den Ruf
auf die Professur „Marine Sensorsysteme“
am Institut für Chemie und Biologie des
Meeres angenommen. Im Rahmen dieser
Professur soll ein wissenschaftliches Kom-
petenzfeld„Meerestechnik“ in Zusammen-
arbeit mit der Jade Hochschule am Standort Wilhelmshaven
etabliert werden.Zielinski studierte Physik in Oldenburg,wo er
bis zu seiner Promotion 1999 alsWissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter
in der Arbeitsgruppe Meeresphysik tätig war. Es folgte eine
wissenschaftliche Mitarbeit bei der Bundesanstalt für Gewäs-
serkunde in Koblenz. Von 2000 bis 2004 arbeitete Zielinski als
Mitgliedder Geschäftsführung für dieOPTIMARE Firmengruppe
und leitete verschiedene internationale Projekte in der marinen
Umweltüberwachung. 2005 nahm er den Ruf nach Bremerha-
ven an, wo er ab 2007 auch die wissenschaftliche Leitung des
IMARE inne hatte. Zielinski ist Vorsitzender der Deutschen Ge-
sellschaft für Meeresforschung.Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte
liegen in der Erfassung mariner Prozesse unter dem Einfluss
langfristiger Veränderungen und kurzfristiger Ereignisse in
Küstenzonen und Schelfmeeren.
Prof.Dr.Oliver Zielinski, until recently a lecturer at the Bremer-
haven University of Applied Science and director of the Insti-
tute for Marine Resources (IMARE, Bremerhaven) has accepted
the "Marine Sensor Systems" chair at the Institute of Chemistry
and Biology of the Marine Environment.Within the framework
of this professorship, the scientific competence field "Marine
Technology" is to be established in cooperation with the Jade
University of Applied Sciences in Wilhelmshaven. Professor
Zielinski studied physics in Oldenburg, where he worked as a
research fellowwith the "Marine Physics" working group until
he completed his PhD in 1999. Research work for the Federal
Institute of Hydrology in Koblenz followed. From 2000 to
2004 he was a member of the management of the OPTIMARE
group and led several international projects for monitoring
the marine environment. In 2005 he was called to the chair
in Bremerhaven, where from 2007 on he also acted as scien-
tific director of IMARE. Professor Zielinski is Chairman of the
German Society for Marine Research (Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Meeresforschung).The primary focus of his research is the
study of marine processes under the influence of long-term
changes and sudden events in coastal areas and shelf seas.
Prof. Dr. Oliver Kramer, bisher Juniorpro-
fessor für Stochastik und Optimierung
an der Universität Weimar, hat den Ruf
auf die Juniorprofessur für Computa-
tional Intelligence am Department für
Informatik angenommen. Kramer stu-
dierte Informatik an den Universitäten
Bielefeld und Dortmund. Er promovierte
an der International Graduate School of
Dynamic Intelligent Systems in Paderborn über Selbstadap-
tation und Evolutionsstrategien. Anschließend arbeitete er
als Post-Doktorand an der TU Dortmund. Ein einjähriger For-
schungsaufenthalt führte ihn an das International Computer
Science Institute Berkeley, Kalifornien (USA), bevor er den
Ruf an die Universität Weimar annahm. Kramers Forschungs-
schwerpunkte: Optimierung und maschinelles Lernen sowie
Anwendungen im Bereich der Energieinformatik.
Prof. Dr. Oliver Kramer, until recently Junior Professor for
Stochastics and Optimisation at the Bauhaus-University Wei-
mar, has accepted a junior professorship for Computational
Intelligence at the Department of Informatics. Dr. Kramer
studied informatics at Bielefeld University and TU Dortmund
University.He completed his PhD at the International Graduate
School of Dynamic Intelligent Systems in Paderborn with a
doctoral thesis on the subject "self-adaptation and evolution
strategies", and then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at
the TU Dortmund. A one-year research trip took him to the
International Computer Science Institute Berkeley in California,
USA, before he accepted the chair at the Bauhaus-University
Weimar.Dr. Kramer's research activities focus on optimisation
and machine learning, as well as applications in the field of
energy informatics.
Prof. Dr. Klaus Zierer, bisher Wissenschaft-
licher Mitarbeiter und Privatdozent am In-
stitut für Schul- und Unterrichtsforschung
der Universität München, hat den Ruf auf
die Professur für Erziehungswissenschaf-
ten mit dem Schwerpunkt Allgemeine
Didaktik/Schulpädagogik am Institut für
Pädagogik angenommen.Zierer studierte
von 1996 bis 2001 das Lehramt an Grund-
schulen und promovierte 2003 an der Universität München.
Anschließend war er als Lehrer an Grund-, Haupt- und Real-
schulen tätig und habilitierte sich 2009 ebenfalls in München.
Im Rahmen seiner Habilitation führte ihn ein Forschungsauf-
enthalt an die University of Oxford (Großbritannien), wo er
seit 2010 Associate Research Fellow am ESRC Centre on Skills,
Knowledge and Organisational Performance (SKOPE) ist. Zie-
rers Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Allgemeine Didaktik,
Schulpädagogik sowieWissenschaftstheorie und -geschichte
Prof. Dr. Klaus Zierer, previously research fellow and Private
Lecturer (Privatdozent) at the Ludwig Maximilian University of
Munich's Institute of School and Teaching Research, has been
appointed to the Chair of Educational Sciences with the main
focus General Didactics/School Pedagogy at the Institute of
Pedagogy. From 1996 to 2001, Zierer studied primary school
teaching and obtained his PhD at the University of Munich in
2003.Hewent on towork as a teacher at primary and secondary
schools and earned his habilitation in 2009, also inMunich.The
research work for his habilitation took him to the University of
Oxford (UK), where he has been an Associate Research Fellow
at the ESRC Centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational
Performance (SKOPE) since 2010. The main emphasis of Pro-
fessor Zierer's research is on general teaching theory, school
pedagogy, and the philosophy and history of science.
